Dirks, Tania

Tania Dirks is an artist whose canvas is as far reaching as the imagination of her young clients. Having received a BFA from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, Tania has mastered not only her own technique and style in personal art pieces, but also the ability to bring the vision of others to life in her brilliant murals.

As a Painting and Illustration Major at RISD, Tania was the recipient of the Florence Lief Award for excellence in painting. She received a fellowship to Yale Summer School of Art and Music . Also while in school, she was a Teachers Assistant for Basic & advance painting techniques, and did an internship at the Drawing Center NY, NY.

After graduation from RISD, Tania taught 3 and 4 year old children painting in a special art and music focused preschool program in West Village, NYC. Working with children naturally lead her to receiving commissions with specialty children’s stores throughout Westchester, NY for Nursery and hand -painted furniture decor. Tania has painted murals and decorative accents in homes throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC.

Tania has spent the past decade balancing a career in Art publishing and freelancing as a Muralist. Tania’s murals have been in high demand and written about in the Riverpatch Journal and The Times-Herald Record.

Tania lives in Putnam County, NY with her husband and son. When her contagious energy is not focused on a canvas or mural work, she can be found training to run a marathon, guiding area youth in art appreciation, attending workshops and conferences, volunteering at her local library & creative group, and toting around her standard wall calendar packed with local community events.
